Hairdressing For A Good Cause

Nine year old Jack May-Berry from Reading has cut and donated to a great charity that changes children’s lives across the country, on a daily basis.

After finding out a local family friend, Ava Booth aged 10, had been diagnosed with leukaemia for a second time, Jack wanted to show his support and done so by having his hair cut and donated to the Little Princes Trust.

Building Confidence

The charity creates wigs for children who have lost their hair from chemotherapy and other  treatments that result in hairloss. Jack, decided to give to this worthy cause after seeing the affects a real hair wig, provide the Little Princes Trust, made to Ava when it boosted her confidence.

Jack has raised over £600 for the charity, which is just shy of his £1,000 target but has the full backing of his peers, with some also thinking about growing their hair and donating it to the worthy cause.

Joining In

And it seems that the charity bug has caught on, as in both our Newbury and Thatcham salons we’ve had clients looking to cut and donate their hair to the charity. A couple of weeks ago a brave young lady, Beth, had her hair cut by our awesome stylists Rhiannon which she also donated.

Not only did she do a great deed, and definitely change a little girl’s life, she was also able to get a beautiful restyle. Jess also joined in on the act and had her haircut and style by our amazing Lucy.

Looking Good While You Do It

We wish Ava the best in her fight, which she has won before. If you have #HairToSpare, come see us in either our Newbury & Thatcham salons and we'll make sure you look gorgeous while your do your bit for charity.
